Message from Pasco Sheriff’s Office Deputy Rojas and Concord Station CDD

Yesterday afternoon 1/9/17 on Mentmore Blvd and Trinity Cottage area there was a child riding a bike while holding a musical instrument.  This child was wearing a helmet and it was strapped and worn appropriately.  The musical instrument fell and hit the front wheel which caused the bike to flip.  The child was thrown off the bike and hit their head on the sidewalk.  The child was unconscious for a moment and couldn’t move for a moment and Fire and Rescue was called.  Officer Rojas and few bystanders were on scene.  This child could not answer any simple questions while laying on the ground.  Fire and Rescue transported the child to a nearby hospital and upon leaving the child was able to give their parent information.  This child is doing just fine.
This is a perfect example showing the importance of bike helmets for our youth within this community.  If this child did not have one on this could have ended very differently.  The sheriff office is here to prevent accidents and we need your help.
LET’S PROTECT OUR KIDS WE NEED YOUR HELP, PLEASE ENSURE YOUR CHILDREN WEAR THEIR HELMETS AND THEY — USE THE CROSSWALK.
Thank you,
Officer Rojas and the Concord Station CDD
